Hello friends!
Welcome to Vintage450's very first blog post. I am so happy to have you here! I hope that through this blog I can offer a little bit of inspiration to you, but mostly I would love for this to just be a bright spot in your day... A place you can stop and hang out for a few minutes.

Today we are talking master bedroom's, and how sometimes it takes 4 years in your home for it to be just the right time to make it beautiful.  Ecc 3:11 "Yet God has made everything beautiful for it's own time."  ðŸ’– That verse clearly goes much deeper than pretty curtains and bedding, but as with every marriage there is a journey and a story. Mine is no different, and right now was the perfect time in our story to finally make our master bedroom a beautiful space just for us!

Up until recently about all we had accomplished in our bedroom/bathroom was choosing two paint colors that were just all wrong for our home. In my defense when we had finally reached the point of making the color decisions in the building process I was pretty much delirous. The only thing that we had hung on the wall was our tv... I know, I know it's not recommended to have a tv in your bedroom, but I honestly love being able to get all cozy and watch a movie in bed!

  Here are the before photos...

We really did just kind of have a blank slate to work with.

And now for the AFTERS!!

Seriously to me, this does not even look like the same space!

I absolutely love and industrial feel and I also think that a master bedroom should have some masculine touches to it as well. To tie both of those things in we used industrial piping for our curtain rods. It takes a really long rod to stretch across all of the windows and still leave room at each end for the curtains, so it was great to be able to make it as long as we needed!

So for what it's worth... this is my advice for the bedding look that you see in magazines. Layers, layers, and more layers!! I used three decorative pillows in the back that I got at Target. Then two pillows that we actually sleep on from Linens & Hutch . I love Linens & Hutch! I bought our down alt. pillows, sheet set, and a down alt. duvet. I LOVE IT ALL! They also have amazing prices! I also used the two shams that came with our coverlet, and then finally three more decorative pillows. We have a down alternative comforter with a duvet cover at the foot of the bed and the final layer is a throw blanket.
This little sitting area at the foot of the bed is now my favorite spot to have coffee! I got my chair, throw, pillow, and side table all from joss & main .  I got a ton of other stuff from theme as well that I will share later, but lets just say I became besties with joss & main during this project! ❤❤❤❤

We used blinds.com for the bamboo blinds and I highly recommend them! They make the blinds to fit your window and they have tons of different colors to choose from. I love my open windows so I was nervous about doing blinds, but they seriously were the perfect finishing touch. They still let a ton of light in and they make the room feel so warm without being dark.

I have to stop for a second and brag on my husband! He built this beautiful tv frame, so now the tv looks just as pretty as the rest of the room!! He spared no detail... he used the same wood around the inside layer of the frame that we used on the accent wall behind the bed. It really tied it all together! Love that hubby of mine!!

This is my favorite verse for marriage! I wanted it in my room as a reminder of what love truly looks like. Marriage can be hard and I know for me it has been one of the biggest things in my life that God has used to refine me and teach me to love like him.
