I have learned so many things on my journey of being a small business owner. The lesson I most frequently remind myself of is to not let it be about money. The second I am making signs to make money it becomes NOT fun and it puts a pressure on what I am doing that I do not want. When I make something I don't make it in hopes of selling a whole bunch of that particular item. I make signs that I want in my home. Many times I sell a sign right off of my own wall. Don't get me wrong I am so beyond blessed, humbled, and grateful when anyone wants to purchase something I have created! In fact the whole reason for this post is to talk about how blown away I am by my customers.

Christy found my etsy shop a few months ago and she reached out to me about creating a Williams Grocery sign for her. You may or may not have seen this beautiful photo floating around all over pinterest. Ummm beautiful is an understatement!! I am pretty sure this is the most coveted sign and dining room currently on the internet. Well, it turns out that the famous Williams Grocery sign is an original antique and I am pretty sure this one isn't for sale! LOL! That is where Vintage450 comes into play. We specialize in creating pieces that truly look old and this sign is by far the number one request I have gotten. We never like to duplicate anyones work, but in this case we have made an exception. This exact sign can't be bought anywhere to our knowledge and Christy has such a deep meaning behind why she so badly wanted the sign.

This is what Christy had to say about the sign we created for her... be prepared to grab a kleenex.

"To say I’m in love with this sign would be an understatement, and my journey to it makes it even sweeter.
I spotted a authentic vintage sign on a blog I follow and I knew I had to have it. I put the photo on mommy group chat boards asking if anyone knew where I could find a duplicate (you know moms know everything), all the way down to messaging the blog writer. To much sadness when she responded it was an authentic original piece found at a thrift store, no more known of.
You see, I didn’t like this wall hanging because it looked cool, it meant something to me because of what it said.
WILLIAMS in big bold letters across the top; my maiden name, while that in itself is special, not the reason it would mean so much to me.
The name Williams resonates with me so strongly because it belonged to my Daddy, my sweet precious Daddy that 2 years ago we lost to pancreatic cancer.
As soon as I saw it I knew that if this sign was hanging in my home it would be a perfect reminder of him daily, an honor to him in a sense.
And I had the perfect place for it, hanging above the dining room table that very same sweet Daddy crafted for my family with his hard working hands.
So I began to search....finding Christina. She was able to duplicate this sign for me all the way down to rusty nails and all. And it’s perfect. It’s the perfect addition to my home. It will always mean more than a wall hanging, it is a constant reminder of a wonderful man that is still leaving a legacy. And I am thankful for the love and hard work put into this piece."

That is Christy's stunning dining room and the beautiful table that her Daddy built. ❤❤ I am so beyond thankful to God that through this little sign business I have been connected to people like Christy. The fact that we made something that will be a treasure to her for years to come means so much to me! The whole reason I wanted to make signs was so that I could have words of truth and art in my home that would be uplifting and reminders of what is truly important.

Here are a few more photos of the Vintage450 version of Williams' Grocery.
